Each of our staff will get a day off next week to focus on their wellbeing
The last 14 months have been extra stressful for everyone due to the unprecedented Covid-19 pandemic. It has had a massive impact on individuals both at home and in the workplace. At Argofield, we would like to show our appreciation for all of our staff’s hard work and flexibility during this difficult time. As a result, we are planning a Wellbeing Week, commencing Monday 20th September 2021.
During this week, employees will be able to spend one day away from the workplace. This time should be spent doing an activity which brings our staff joy and an enhanced sense of wellbeing. It could be something simple, such as visiting or contacting a friend or relative whom they have not seen for a long time. It could also involve going for a long walk, to take in the countryside and connect with nature. Another option could be to go further afield and visit a place of interest or spend a day at a local animal sanctuary or zoo. The time could even be spent carrying out some activities that the individual enjoys such as drawing, painting or other craftwork. Whichever activity our staff decides to do, it should be to help them unwind and relax.
The chosen activity should be something that our staff would not normally have time to do. It could even be for an hour or two, but it must have a positive impact on their mental wellbeing. Every member of staff will send in photos of themselves doing their chosen activity, and a winner will be picked. The winner will get a prize and be featured in the company newsletter. They will then create a written piece regarding how the activity made them feel and what they did.
We Take Care of Our Staff
If successful, this is something that we would like to introduce permanently to the company. Therefore, in the future, it could become a yearly event. We take an active interest in our staff’s wellbeing, and this is something that we are doing to show that we care. Employees at Argofield are not lost in the system, but are each treated as unique individuals. This is a benefit of our company’s small size and general friendly atmosphere. Indeed, everyone at every level of the company gets along and knows each other on a first name basis. This gesture demonstrates the fact that we are supportive of our staff’s needs and inclusive in nature.
